A single‐feed TM 21 ‐mode circular patch antenna with circular polarization (CP) is proposed and investigated. The operating condition for CP in the antenna is theoretically determined and experimentally validated. An impedance bandwidth of 10% (SWR ≤ 2) and an axial ratio bandwidth of >2% (≤3 dB) have been obtained. The radiation patterns are stable over the operating band.
