Hydrogen overvoltage on bright platinum was measured over the p H range 0.5–12.1. The effects of p H and of added sodium and ammonium ions were determined. Relative rates of over‐all hydrogen producing reactions at low current densities were determined for solutions studied. Mechanisms of hydrogen overvoltage in these solutions are discussed.
