A cDNA-encoding an isoform of rat calcineurin A has been cloned from a rat brain cDNA library.The amino acid sequence deduced from the cDNA sequence was identical to that deduced from the previously isolated rat calcineurin A cDNA sequence, except that the present sequence lacked l0 amino acids following the calmodulin-binding domain.This cDNA clone is expected to facilitate characterization of the molecular isoforms of calcineurin A in rat brain.
