The absorption spectrum of the TeSe molecule has been investigated and bands, all degraded to the violet, have been obtained in the region λλ2520-2140. Most of these bands can be classified into two systems having the following vibrational constants (in cm -1 ). Bands lying in the region λλ2300-2140 are possibly fragments of a third system which has the same lower-state vibrational frequency as the other two systems. The vibrational levels in state II show indications of a probable perturbation and predissociation. All the three systems seem to be due to the transition D 3 II <- x 3 Σ.
