1 Tbit/s (100 × 10.7Gbit/s) transmission over 6200 km has been obtained by using 30 nm wide single-stage C-band optical repeaters (gain-flatness <+/– 10.1 dB), Aeff-enlarged positive dispersion fibre (Aeff > 110 µm2) and slope-compensating dispersion-compensating fibre with a channel spacing of 0.3 nm.
