The modified geometrical optics method is applied to find the rada r cross section of an infinite, gyrotropic, circu lar cylinder with a n axial magnetic field. The res ults compare favora bly with those obtained using the bounda ry value solution. The modified geometrical optics method offers the advantage that it may be applied to a general cylin drical cross section without further development. It may also be applied to other orientations of magnetic fi eld but the computations are much more tedious.
