Experimental EIS results are presented which were obtained during polymerization of bithiophene on a Pt electrode under potentiostatic conditions. A FFT impedance spectrometer which uses a sum of selected sine waves as a perturbation was employed in this study. A numerical approach was applied to obtain correct impedance data from these measurements. The investigation confirmed that electropolymerization is accompanied by the build‐up of a very large capacitance in the electrode double layer.
