Experimental techniques for the measurements of the Raman spectra of crystalline high polymers have been developed. The preparation of samples and a procedure for the measurements are described in some detail. The Raman spectra of polyoxymethylene (CH 2 O) n , deuterated polyoxymethylene (CD 2 O) n , poly(ethylene oxide) (CH 2 CH 2 O) n , and polytetrahydrofuran (CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 O) n have been obtained. These results as well as the infrared data are interpreted on the basis of the factor group analyses and the normal coordinate treatments. The experimental results are in fairly good agreement with the results of the theoretical treatments for these polyethers.
