The influence of inelastic processes on the coherence in the semiballistic regime of mesoscopic transport is investigated by calculating the AC conductance of electrons in a single-channel quantum wire, coupled to a bath of longitudinal acoustic phonons. Numerical results illustrate the situation in GaAs structures.
