The preparation is described of some new discotic liquid crystalline compounds; the hexa-(p-alkoxyphenoxymethyl)benzenes, and the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7-hepta- and octa-(p-alkoxyphenoxymethyl)naphthalenes. Transition temperatures and latent heats, from DSC-measurements, are presented, and in addition, a preliminary discussion of the structures is given.
