An electric shock tube (T tube) filled with a mixture of 95% He and 5% CO₂ at 0.5-Torr initial pressure was the source for spectroscopic measurements of some C II oscillator strengths. The absorption oscillator strengths of the C II 2512, 2837, 3920 and 3876 {} multiplets were measured relative to the 4267 {} C II multiplet. The plasma electron temperature was determined by the relative line intensities of the 4254 and 4642 {} O II lines.
