Double and triple meson ( pi ) production (821 and 512 events respectively) in proton-proton interactions at 2.85 Bev is observed. The production of mesons ( omega ) in the reaction p + p yields p + p + pi /sup +/ + pi /sup -/, pi /sup 0/ is indicated by a dev iation of the distribution of the 3 pi effective mass from phase space.
