Lupulon, an antibiotic extracted from hop resins, was found to be effective against Gram-positive bacteria in vitro but inactive against Gram-negative organisms. The antibiotic had no demonstrable effect on a numlber of pathogenic and nonpathogenic molds and actinomycetes.
