An earlier source-theoretic calculation of the order-α quantum-electrodynamic modification of the electron stress tensor is used to obtain the low-momentum-transfer limit, as well as an explicit analytical form. A simplified version of a recent result of Berends and Gastmans is thus obtained, in a physically transparent and simple manner.
