<ns3:p>Convergence is an important concept in the social sciences, particularly in the sciences of social communication and media. An area of its application in pedagogy is media education. The subject of this article is the phenomenon of convergence in a less well-known but important area for education, namely science. Since the 1960s, there has been a trend towards the consolidation of knowledge. The article shows how researchers' approaches to the multidisciplinarity of sciences have changed. It then explains what convergent education and convergence in education are. Changes in school curricula become an inevitable consequence of knowledge convergence. The application of convergence in education was shown through the example of programmes implemented in South Korea, including in relation to gifted students.</ns3:p>
