Sabatini and colleagues (1) described a 37-year-old immunodeficient homosexual woman who died of systemic candidiasis and whose autopsy examination showed T-cell lymphoma. Both the patient and her healthy female partner denied drug use or sexual contact with men; but doubts remain about the reliability of the women's histories because no explanation was provided how either partner acquired HIV.
