We report a case of an empyema due to this organism occurring in a patient with an underlying lymphoma.A 65-year-old man with a 12-year history of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma was hospitalized because of left-sided pleuritic chest pain and fever of 5 days' duration. He denied having headache, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, or difficulty in walking.
