Measurements of the magnetic susceptibility, electrical resistivity and Hall effect have been made on FeP 2 single crystals prepared by a chemical transport reaction. FeP 2 is a diamagnetic semiconductor with a nearly temperature independent susceptibility of -(8.8±0.7)·10- 6 SI (at room temperature), and a band gap of 0.37 eV.
