We report an additional case in which idiopathic thrombocytopenia was associated with an extragonadal germ-cell neoplasm.A 24-year-old man presented with superior vena cava obstruction and had a large anterior superior mediastinal mass. A biopsy specimen of the mass showed an endodermal sinus tumor and embryonal carcinoma. There was no evidence of testicular, retroperitoneal, or bone marrow involvement. Multiple hepatic metastases were found. The initial serum alpha-fetoprotein level was 5400 ng/mL, and peripheral blood count before therapy showed...References1. GARNICK M and GRIFFIN J.
