An investigation of the infrared spectrum of gaseous thionyl fluoride results in the following fundamental assignment: ν1(a′)=1333 cm−1, ν2(a′)=808 cm−1, ν3(a′)=530 cm−1.ν4(a′)=(410) cm−1, ν5(a′′)=748 cm−1, ν6(a′′)=390 cm−1. Thermodynamic functions for SOF2 are calculated with the usual assumptions.
