Electron work function calculations from Cu(100), Cu(110), and Cu(111) monocrystals as a function of boundary conditions and surface charge of metal are carried out by means of the extended coherent potential approximation (ECPA) method. A special parameter describing the polarization of a metal sample by an external source of voltage is also introduced. The work function dependence on crystallographic faces of monocrystalline sample has been explained on the basis of local Fermi level idea.
