New identifications and lifetime measurements of excited states in highly ionized oxygen

The emission spectrum of highly stripped oxygen has been studied in the extreme ultraviolet (XUV), using the beam-foil technique. Transitions are observed between multiply excited states and where possible are assigned on the basis of recent calculations. Lifetimes of thirteen levels in O V and O VI have been measured and good agreement is found with recent theoretical values.
