Structural variation in the antennal sense organs of fulgoroid Homoptera (Insecta)

Descriptions based on scanning electron microscopy of antennal sensory plaques in a number of families of fulgoroid insects are given. A gradation in complexity of form of these plaques is demonstrated. The types of plaques examined group in accordance with a taxonomic scheme of the fulgoroidea.
