A concise feedback “characterization” of a linear multivariable system, expressed in terms of a frequency domain “factorization” of the transfer matrix, is defined and employed to completely and concisely represent a large class of systems compensated by state feedback. This “characterization” is then employed to answer the question of “exact model matching.”
