Two new difunctionalised [2]catenanes 5 b, c have been synthesised. Oligomers 10 c, d containing interlocked rings in the main chain were prepared via Pd° coupling of 5 b with comonomers 9 c, d and degrees of polymerization of up to 8 have been reached. These materials were characterized by 1 H NMR spectroscopy, fast atom bombardment‐mass spectroscopy, gel‐permeation chromatography and differential scanning calorimetry.
