The purposes of this study were to develop and disclose a fresh methodology for estimating the economic impact of state and local taxation on different age groups and to apply this methodology to taxpayers, classified by age, in the state of Florida. The central finding was that older households, those headed by persons aged 65 and over, bear the same tax burden as do younger households.
