The membrane protein PSMA is a valuable marker for prostate cancer and can be used to direct PSMA-specific small molecules to prostate cancer cells. If these PSMA ligands are conjugated to appropriate effector domains, endogenous antibodies are recruited and a selective immune response against the cancer cells is instigated.
