The Stark widths of the 3s ²S-3p ²{P}ᵒ$ and 3p $²P^o-3d ²D transitions have been calculated and measured in the plasma of a pulsed arc. Electron densities in the range (2.1--6.4)×{}10¹⁷ cm^-3 were determined from the width of the He ii P_α line while electron temperatures between 50 800 and 131 800 K are measured from the Boltzmann plot of O iv line intensities. Our experimental O iv Stark width agrees well with another experiment and with our semiclassical theoretical results in the whole temperature range.
