Al(BH4)3⋅6 NH3 has been prepared by a convenient route and its composite is able to release more than 10 wt % hydrogen below 140 °C with favorable kinetics by a weakly exothermic combination of NH and BH bonds. The high hydrogen capacity, favorable dehydrogenation, and relative stability to air make Al(BH4)3⋅6NH3 an advanced solid-state hydrogen-storage candidate.
