A b initio self-consistent field calculations with a double zeta basis set have been performed on two previously suggested structures for gas phase beryllium borohydride. It is demonstrated that one of the structures (of C3v symmetry) does not represent a minimum on the SCF energy surface. The implications of this result are briefly discussed.
