Electron beam spectroscopy

This review article discusses some recent techniques of producing electron beams with narrow energy distributions and various methods for measuring these energy distributions. A description and discussion of energy analysers for studying the energy spectra of the electron beams after they have been transmitted through gases or through solids forms the main subject of this article. The emphasis is on progress during the last ten years, but a brief survey of earlier developments of the subject is added.
