C+ and C− predissociations are treated in the linear potential approximation. Using the appropriate Green’s function, analytic expressions are obtained for ΔE and Γ, the energy shifts and linewidth. These parameters are shown to be strongly energy dependent and their effect on predissociation line shapes are illustrated.
