The variation of megagauss magnetic field in two dimensions for a cylindrical target plasma produced by lasers irradiation on the surface of a cylindrical wire has been solved analytically making use of Hankel and Fourier transforms. The results have been compared with the experiments of R AVEN et al. (1978).
