Using data from a recent nationwide social survey in Taiwan, this study investigated the extent of support for Confucian ethical beliefs across socio-demographic groups in the Taiwanese population. Although the extent of such support varied across occupation, residence, and place of origin, it did not significantly vary across most socioeconomic groups. The convergence of Confucianism was suggested and explained in terms of the recent economic development and social changes in the country.
