To obtain precise measurement of the relationship between stamp breakage and erection normal, potent men were studied in a controlled laboratory setting. The results indicated that full erection was required before breakage occurred. Although the data obtained offer some support for the potential value of using nocturnal penile tumescence stamps in the differential diagnosis of impotence, several issues must be resolved before the clinical value of this simple technique can be established. © 1982 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byMorales A, Condra M, Heaton J, Johnston B and Fenemore J (2018) Diurnal Penile Tumescence Recording in the Etiological Diagnosis of Erectile DysfunctionJournal of Urology, VOL. 152, NO. 4, (1111-1114), Online publication date: 1-Oct-1994.Allen R, Smolev J, Engel R and Brendler C (2018) Comparison of Rigiscan and Formal Nocturnal Penile Tumescence Testing in the Evaluation of Erectile RigidityJournal of Urology, VOL. 149, NO. 5 Part 2, (1265-1268), Online publication date: 1-May-1993.Marshall P, Morales A, Phillips P and Fenemore J (2018) Nocturnal Penile Tumescence with Stamps: A Comparative Study Under Sleep Laboratory ConditionsJournal of Urology, VOL. 130, NO. 1, (88-89), Online publication date: 1-Jul-1983.
