We used a recombinant-based immunoblot assay (RIBA, Chiron-Ortho) (3) to investigate the specificity of the HCV-EIA in 90 patients with histologically proven primary biliary cirrhosis. Liver histologic stages according to Scheuer (4) were 1-2, 3, and 4 in 25, 22, and 43 patients, respectively. Serum samples were stored at -20 °C until tested, for less than 2 months and for 2 to 48...References1. KuoChooAlter GQH.
