The purpose of this instrument is to provide a fast, accurate, cheap and easy method for use with linear and nonlinear transducers for the direct digital display of the value of the measurand. The transducer's output voltage is transmitted via an analogue-to-digital converter into a programmable calculator and is operated upon to yield the value of the measurand. This method has been successfully applied to two transducers, one for the measurement of temperature and the other for the measurement of electron mean energy in a laser gas discharge.
