The present exploration studies the influence of nanofluid flow comprising carbon nanotubes (CNTs), i.e. single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), past a linearly stretched surface with Darcy–Forchheimer effect. The flow is under the impact of magnetohydrodynamic near a stagnation point with Cattaneo–Christov heat flux model. The impact of homogenous–heterogeneous (hh) reactions is also taken into account with thermal stratification. The system of ordinary differential equations corresponds to appropriate transformation. The homotopy analysis method is utilized for convergent series solutions. The outcome of numerous physical parameters has been graphically computed on the velocity f ′ η , temperature θ η and concentration ϕ η profiles. Skin friction coefficient f ″ 0 and local Nusselt number θ ′ 0 are discussed graphically for SWCNTs and MWCNTs. It is visualized that velocity escalates for growing estimates of inertia coefficient and porosity parameter.
