Since the 1930s, the formal study of job satisfaction has become extremely popular. The result of this popularity has led to the creation of a number of job satisfaction measures. Despite the availability of these measures, there does not appear to be one that is directly related to job satisfaction among police officers. This paper describes the creation of a 23 item job satisfaction measure geared specifically to municipal-level police agencies.
