SummaryA report is given of seven cases of joint trouble in immediate conjunction with diarrhea, six of them being Salmonella infections, with seemingly good prognoses. It was a question of aseptic asymmetric polyarthritis. Salmonella typhi murium infection must be considered proved in five cases. Strikingly enough, Widal's test was positive also for Paratyphus B. This may perhaps be interpreted to mean that there was an antigenic similarity with common partial antigen between Salmonella typhi murium and Paratyphus B. Experiments to obtain a more detailed type determination of the bacteria are being planned.
