A medium-grained rock composed of clinopyroxene, othopyroxene, garnet, and olivine, apparently not previously found in the Colorado Plateau diatremes, was recently discovered at the Moses Rock dike, San Juan County, Utah. The occurrence of this mineral assemblage is of importance in the light of recent discussions proposing that dense xenoliths of these diatremes represent possible fragments of the upper mantle.
