Safety inspections at construction sites are becoming important to prevent accidents. However, current safety inspections are conducted through visual assessments, leading to inefficiencies in time and a risk of omissions. This study aims to address these issues by developing a model that automatically evaluates the adequacy of safety facility placement, thereby enhancing the efficiency of construction site safety inspections.Specifically, the study focuses on guardrails, a critical safety measure for fall prevention, and employs Building Information Modeling (BIM) to identify hazard zones and determine whether safety facilities are adequately placed within these zones. The safety regulations related to the placement of guardrails were quantified, and an algorithm was designed based on these regulations. The inspection model was implemented using Dynamo and validated for performance through tests with hypothetical construction site data. The model not only evaluates placement adequacy but also visually highlights improperly installed guardrails, helping inspectors to understand the issues and formulate effective corrective measures. While further improvements are needed to accommodate diverse scenarios, this model is expected to serve as a valuable tool for efficient safety inspections.
