The Lost Gity meteorite was analyzed by X-ray diffraction and optical emission spectrographic techniques. The major-element data combined with the olivine composition (fayalite 18.1%) and the concentrations of kamacite (17%) provide enough information to place the Lost City meteorite in the H chemical group. The X-ray diffraction scans indicate the meteorite probably belongs to the 5 petrologic group.
