Turis paper is based on a study of 52 specimens of Chinese leafkatydids belonging to the genus Yiphidiopsis in the United States National Museum, and in the Hebard collection at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia.Only one of them was found to belong to a previously described species; the remaining 51 specimens represent 12 species new to science, several of these being represented by unique types.
