A Java-based, two-dimensional electromagnetic (EM) scattering field simulator—RCS2D—is introduced. It enables one to explore EM wave—arbitrary object interaction under a plane wave illumination. RCS2D uses both method of moments and finite-difference time-domain models for both transverse magnetic and transverse electric polarizations.
