Abstract cis-Bicyclo[3.3.0]octanone, cis-hydrindanone and cis-decalone skeletons have been efficiently constructed by intramolecular nitrile oxide-olefin cycloaddition of 1-ethenyl-2-nitroalkyl cycloalkanes or 1-ethenyl-2-hydroxyiminoalkyl cycloalkane which are readily derived from macrolactone by Funk’s Claisen rearrangement.
