Infra‐red cyclotron resonance has been used to obtain the transverse effective mass of holes in Pb0.82Sn0.18Te, using fields approaching 105 G the value obtained being m = 0.0144 m0 at 4.2 °K. Combined with interband magneto‐absorption results this gives essentially the same value for the conduction band mass.
