The category of activity is universally accepted in Soviet psychology. Further development of the activity approach requires our awareness of the path traversed, an analysis of the viewpoints that have emerged concerning the function of the category of activity in the system of psychological science, and a delimitation of problems for the research program of Soviet psychologists.
