Near normal incidence reflectivity spectra of p‐type Pb1 − xSnxTe have been obtained. The electric susceptibility effective mass m★, dielectric constant ε∞ and relaxation lifetime τ were determined by a computer least squares best fit of the data to a single band Drude free carrier model. A possible anomalous behavior of m★ has been observed.
