This paper describes an instrument for investigating the radiation field of any type of gamma-ray source. A small calcium tungstate crystal together with a light-conducting quartz rod and a 1P21 photo-multiplier tube is used as gamma-ray detector. The lines of constant radiation intensity in a selected plane (isodose curves) are recorded automatically with a good accuracy in a short period of time.
